Program Dissemination, Community Education & Media Facilitator
We are seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join our team as a Program Dissemination, Community Education & Media Facilitator. The individual will work closely with us to support outreach and public engagement across key initiatives, including Sex & Sexuality Education, Worker Cooperatives, and Local Governance.
This is a part-time role focused on delivering interactive workshops, supporting community education efforts, and providing light assistance with social media and content creation. The ideal candidate is a clear and empathetic communicator who can simplify complex ideas, facilitate engaging sessions, and mentor junior staff and interns as needed.
Primary Focus – Dissemination, Engagement & Mentorship (~ 80%)
Facilitate workshops and community education sessions aligned with the organization's core themes.
Translate our research and field experience into public-facing materials such as toolkits, session plans, and simple visual content.
Support media outreach by drafting basic social media posts, event recaps, or visual content alongside the communications team.
Mentor junior staff or interns in workshop facilitation, public speaking, and content preparation.
Engage meaningfully with our program content to ensure all outreach is grounded in organizational values.
Secondary Focus – Coordination & Documentation (~ 20%)
Document workshops and events through short reports, curated photos or videos, and team knowledge-sharing.
Assist with basic coordination tasks, including outreach and logistics for public-facing events and trainings.
Essential:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Communications, Development Studies, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in community engagement, workshop facilitation, or public education—preferably across diverse social issues.
Fluency in both Tamil and English (spoken and written).
Proven ability to lead participatory sessions and adapt materials for varied audiences.
Familiarity with basic digital tools (Google Drive, Canva or similar, and messaging platforms).
Strong alignment with social justice values and a collaborative team ethic.
Preferred:
Familiarity with topics such as sex and sexuality education, labor rights, or grassroots governance.
Prior experience in non-profits, community media, or educational outreach.
Willingness to travel locally for occasional events or workshops.

Monthly compensation: Rs. 15,000, commensurate with experience.
Part-time role with a renewable 1-year contract.
Work location: Chennai, with regular local travel as part of the role (commute expenses will be reimbursed by ECTE).
