The objective of this initiative is to document the socio-economic and political history of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, including significant social and political movements that have arisen in the city. For this initiative, ECTE is collaborating with prominent city historians and academics from different educational and research institutions in Chennai.

This ongoing conference will provide opportunities for interaction and engagement between the researchers, the public, and other stakeholders.
The goal of the conference and subsequent publication of the research is to spread the findings of the research and make it widely accessible to the public, historians, and other interested parties. By hosting this conference and publishing the research, the project team and Krea University aim to keep the public informed and engaged with their ongoing work. We are honored to work with a group of distinguished historians who share our passion for documenting the socio-economic and political history of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
